403 Stainless Steel Plate is a hardenable martensitic chromium steel known for its good high-temperature strength, corrosion resistance, and mechanical properties. With a typical chromium content of 11.5-13%, it offers excellent oxidation resistance and elevated-temperature performance up to approximately 1200°F (649°C). This plate is commonly supplied in the annealed condition, offering good machinability and the ability to be heat treated for increased hardness and strength. It is a preferred material for applications such as turbine blades, steam generator components, and other high-stress parts in power generation and aerospace industries, where reliability under thermal cycling is critical.
